The Leafs desperately lack overall team grit and a shut down pair of d-men. Against tough teams like the Bruins the lack of the Leafs having quality NHL d-men is very obvious. After Rielly they have a group of 4, 5 and 6 d-men that would be hard pressed to be in the top 4 of most top teams. Unless Dubas makes a trade for 1 or 2 top 4 d-men the Leafs will be hard pressed to do well in the playoffs.

100%. They didn't need Nylander and certainly not at 7 million. Could have parlayed him into a top 4 d. Now they are seeing what happens...

We don’t need trolls, our blogger handles that part. So get lost.

I stopped reading them a long time ago. Regurgitated news, irrelevant op-ed content for the most part with no original primary research, lacks depth, etc.

I'm here for the trolling and sexy GIFs though.

How serious was Dubas’s “I won’t trade Nylander as long as I’m GM” quote??

If he doesn’t get traded for some grit and Defensive help I can see Johnsson and Kapanen getting traded for a third line center, top pairing D and grit (ie. Simmonds)

I’d rather lose Willy than two potential studs. But, something has to happen soon.

What do u guys think?

Did Dubas actually say that or was that Nylander (mis?)quoting Dubas?

Luc Robitaille once said, “As soon as a GM tells you that, you are as good as gone!”

As a fan I never believe any GM or ownership that says BS like that.

Hey Habs & Leafs, I don't particularly like either of you - but take some advice and do yourselves a favor - don't bother with Hamilton. He is not worth whatever the Hurricanes are asking. If you need D, look elsewhere.

Honestly, if there's a deal to be had with Carolina I think the Leafs should be targeting Faulk rather than Hamilton.

Pesce? Perhaps.

You knew something was up when Burke was over-pumping his tires last year during the trade rumors.

There has to be a reason he is seemingly always on the block.

The full statement is...

“I won’t trade Nylander as long as I’m GM and he is living up to his contract."
